Bath Conference on China & Global Sustainability Transition
24th-25th June 2025

The Bath 2025 conference will gather leading experts on China and sustainability from both the Global North and South to discuss opportunities and challenges to engage China for accelerating global sustainability transition. The conference is organized in partnership with Bath Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change and Dialogue Earth.
Understanding China’s fast evolving role in global environmental governance requires inputs from experts of all backgrounds and experiences. As such, conference participants will come from the academic, policy-making, and civil society communities, and represent a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. We welcome all participants’ contributions to the discussions during the conference.
We aim to build a strong global academic-policy network for overcoming barriers to understanding China and to chart constructive paths to cooperation between China and the rest of the world for sustainable development. This 1.5-day conference will consist of keynote speakers, several thematic roundtables on China’s changing influence on global sustainability governance, and interactive group discussions to gather opinions from all participants. The conference will be invite only and held under the Chatham House Rule.
All details about the conference including the full programme are now in the conference brochure.
